We're seeking a Senior Accountant to perform and oversee all accounting operations, ensure financial accuracy, and provide leadership in managing budgets, reporting, and compliance. This role is critical in safeguarding assets, guiding financial decisions, and supporting our company's continued growth.
What You'll Do
Management
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Manage outsourced functions.
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including organizational structure and team goals.
- Oversee accounting operations, including controls, transaction processing, and policies.
Transactions
- Perform job cost accounting and cost allocations.
- Ensure accounts payable are paid on time and take advantage of available discounts.
- Responsible for invoicing all customers.
- Ensure accounts receivable are collected promptly.
- Process payroll in a timely manner.
- Calculate sales commissions.
- Complete periodic bank reconciliations.
- Ensure required debt payments are made on time.
- Maintain the chart of accounts and orderly filing systems.
- Enter and maintain controls over all accounting transactions.
Reporting
- Issue timely and accurate financial statements.
- Coordinate preparation of the annual report.
- Recommend benchmarks to measure company performance.
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.
- Manage production of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Report significant variances from the budget to management.
- Provide financial analyses for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
Compliance
- Coordinate audits and provide required information to external auditors.
- Monitor debt levels and covenant compliance.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.
Additional Accountabilities
- Perform roles of AP/AR/Payroll/HR clerks as needed, until company growth allows for additional staff.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent experience.
- 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, ideally with a major company or division of a large corporation.
- CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- Proven leadership in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
Working Conditions
- Office-based
- Periodic evening or weekend work may be required.

- None at the time, but as we grow more may be added to the department.
